On-premise CRM, can also be known as:

  • In-house,
  • On Location,
  • Licensed,
  • or On-site CRM.

This software is a type of CRM application that is housed at a company's  location and managed by its employees.

The user’s internal IT personnel are responsible for taking care of the hardware and software for the program. They are responsible for storing all information, setting up the system for use by the staff, and fixing any problems that may arise with its use.

This can be a costly option and is generally used by larger companies. The responsibility of maintaining all aspects of the hardware and software, licensing of the system, and hiring on site staff would be a major deterrent for businesses that don’t have a budget for such an undertaking.

However, the benefits of controlling your own CRM system, maintaining your own data, having control of who has access to your companies data, and being able to immediately fix problems without waiting for a third party may overcome the cost associated with running this type of Software.

With this type of system you have complete control. 

You are able to coordinate the utilization of the system in complete co ordinance with the way you run your company.

The only drawback is the price and in such instances where price is the determining factor, a Hosted CRM system would be a viable alternative.
